Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Terse ("the App") or any associated services at terseai.org ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Terse is a macOS application and web service that provides:

On-device prompt optimization and token compression
An agent monitor for tracking LLM API usage and costs
A local proxy for automatic model routing (Opus → Sonnet)
A Token Exchange marketplace for buying and selling API credits

3. Accounts

Some features require a Terse account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or other harmful content
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Circumvent any access controls or security measures
Misrepresent your identity or affiliation on the Token Exchange

5. Token Exchange

The Token Exchange allows users to buy and sell third-party API credits (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). By participating:

You confirm you have the right to sell any API keys or credits you list
You understand that Terse charges a 15% commission on completed transactions
You accept that Terse is a marketplace facilitator, not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers
API keys are encrypted with AES-256 at rest; you are responsible for any keys you share
Terse does not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or validity of listed credits

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid features are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact [email protected] within 7 days of a charge if you believe you were billed in error.

7. Intellectual Property

Terse and all associated software, designs, and content are owned by Prune AI and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use Terse's trademarks, logos, or branding.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. All text optimization runs on-device and is never transmitted to our servers.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Terse does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prune AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Prune AI operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
